Technical Project Leader MEMS and thin-film applications

Do you have an education in exact sciences, and do you get excited by solving development & engineering problems? And do you take pleasure in improving high-tech processes and technology solutions? Then you will be our next Technical Project Leader for MEMS and integrated thin-film applications.

You will be responsible for

  • The development in a structured and methodologically sound way of processes and process flows, mostly within the context of a project
  • Leading projects, realizing the agreed technical and non-technical deliverables; either contributing to or making relevant technological choices during the different stages of a project
  • Securing the progress of a project in all its metrics and deliverables and controlling risks; giving direction to colleagues, also from other areas of expertise. Managing a project budget of 100 – 1000 K euro
  • Signalling opportunities to realize industrial opportunities and projects based on the available expertise and competences
  • Initiating independently project proposals in agreement with all relevant stakeholders
  • Acquiring assignments for 1-5 FTE’s per year
  • Seeing trends in the technological domain and making use of it
  • Judging the possibilities of reusing existing knowledge and the needs for new developments and initiating and leading competence development projects
  • Coaching junior development engineers
  • Pro-actively communicating with all stakeholders, including clients, senior management, professional network and colleagues

Your profile

  • A Master or Bachelor Degree in the area of the exact sciences
  • In-depth knowledge of MEMS process development and setting up integral process flows
  • Proven experience in project management and leading process development projects in MEMS or Semicoductor Technology
  • Knowledge of, and understanding the Thin Film technological expertise/domain
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, both technical as interpersonal
  • Pragmatic, creative, flexible attitude with a result driven, can-do mentality

About the vacancy

In this role you will have the opportunity to work for a wide range of high-tech customers in the area of integrated thin-film and MEMS products. The development projects you will be involved in, are in the field of new product applications for the medical and industrial market.
You will be part of a team of highly-skilled professionals, with a vast experience in process technology development. You will join the definition of new customer development projects. Besides this you will be responsible for executing these projects, bringing the state-of-the-art technology to a manufacturing-ready state.
The Process Development & Integration group focusses on the realization of integral (flowchart) solutions in the application fields of MEMS, sensors, actuators and other devices. A key focus area is MEMS devices for medical applications.
The group is part of the MEMS & Micro Devices department.
