Electrical Engineer

You will make a difference as Electrical Engineer. Here's how

You will join the Thin-Film Electronics team to develop and realize various exciting prototypes, and join multidisciplinary projects with our company partners and in European consortia. You have affinitiy with circuit design, prototyping and test, and have multiple years of experience developing electronics systems, including software and firmware. You have a broad set of skills, rather than being an expert in a limited number of topics. Affinity with mechanical design and corresponding experience are a pre. You have a good overview of existing technologies and are able to re-use and build on these for the realization of our prototypes. 

Your tasks include:

  • Development of read-out hardware and software for new and existing sensor and actuator arrays;
  • Build and test of measurement set-ups for characterization of large-area sensor and actuator arrays based on TNO's proprietary materials, processes and devices, in combination with off-the- shelf electronic components;
  • Realization of portotypes and technology demonstrators;
  • Interaction with customers and team members to allign on system requirements and prototype specifications;
  • Support of validation of developed systems in real-life or clinical studies.

Are you someone with…

  • Multiple years of experience in design, realization and test of functional embedded electronic protoypes, and testing and debugging hardware and software;
  • Relevant practical skills, such as SMD soldering, mechanics;
  • Hands-on mentality, taking responsibility, able to organize practical work in an efficient and cooperative way;
  • Required PCB development tool experience: Autodesk Eagle or equivalent;
  • Knowledge of programming languages: LabVIEW, C#, VHDL;
  • Good communication skills in English, both orally and in writing.
