Reinout Paauwe recently joined the ENTER team, and he hasn’t regretted it for a moment. “What stood out to me right away is how great the group is that I get to lead. They’re young, motivated engineers—mostly around thirty. A fun, energetic bunch,” he says enthusiastically.
A new challenge
Reinout’s move to ENTER didn’t come completely out of the blue. “I’d seen ENTER job postings before, but I wasn’t actively looking at the time. Then I started thinking more seriously about a new opportunity. Right around then, Wim reached out to me. We had a phone call that immediately sparked my interest.”
That initial conversation led to follow-up interviews with Perjan, Koen, Sabina, and Roland. “I had a really good feeling with each of them. That’s important to me—my gut feeling plays a big role in my decision-making.”
Reinout also interviewed with several other companies to see what fit him best. What really stood out to him at ENTER was the personal approach. “At ENTER, it’s truly about the people. You’re not just a number. It really shows—there are people here who’ve been with the company for over ten years. That was something I missed at my previous job. Here, you’re seen as a person, not just as someone who can be placed somewhere. That makes the work a lot more rewarding.”
Although he explored account management roles as well, his preference clearly leaned toward recruitment. “The human side of staffing is what I enjoy most. You don’t get that as much in B2B account management.”
At ENTER, Reinout is part of the Software team, working closely with Koen, Perjan, and others. “It’s not a big team, but it’s full of experience and knowledge. I can learn a lot here.”
Sports, travel, and adventure
Outside of work, Reinout is just as active. His biggest passion? Hockey. And sometimes, work and play overlap in funny ways. “Last season, I had a match against one of my own team members. We won, thankfully—but I missed a wide-open shot, of all people against him, and he’s the goalkeeper! Two days later, we had a BiLa, and the first half hour we just talked about the game,” he laughs.
Reinout loves staying active, whether it's hockey, snowboarding, padel, or mountain biking. “I recently took part in ENTER’s padel tournament for the first time, teamed up with David—and we actually won!”
Ski trips are also a regular part of the year, though this season’s trip isn’t planned yet. “We usually go to Austria or France with a group. I’m not picky about where we go, as long as there’s plenty of snow. And of course, a little après-ski is part of the fun,” he grins.
