Do you want to contribute to advanced analog and RF design flows used in high-tech semiconductor development? And do you get energy from improving design robustness, reliability and first-time-right silicon? While you work in an environment where your expertise matters and your personal development is a priority? Then this role as Design Flow Engineer could be a strong next step for you.
As Design Flow Engineer, you will develop and improve flows and methodologies for simulating analog and RF circuits. You will support design teams with tools, analysis and expertise that help them apply reliable design methods in new product development.
Your work focuses on assessing the robustness, performance and long-term reliability of semiconductor designs. You analyze interconnects and power devices, detect reliability concerns early in the design cycle and help design teams improve their designs before production.
Your responsibilities include:
- Performing electromigration analysis on IC and power-device layouts
- Evaluating current-density limits and identifying reliability risks in metal interconnects
- Analyzing stress-induced voiding and metal migration under operating conditions
- Identifying design weaknesses and recommending improvements to design teams
- Developing flows and methodologies for power, electromigration and current-density analysis
- Assessing electrothermal reliability of interconnects and devices
- Carrying out parasitic-aware design verification and physical validation
- Defining and validating design rules related to electromigration reliability
- Working closely with design, layout and technology teams to improve robustness
- Preparing technical reports that document design risks and mitigation strategies
- Supporting failure analysis and reliability qualification activities
- Developing AI/ML-based approaches to verify and analyze new RF and analog designs for improved performance
You may also contribute to the development and improvement of flows for electromagnetic radiated-emission simulation. In addition, you will support the design community in the use of EM simulation tools and apply your findings to future RF designs, including radar, 5G/6G and radio solutions.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent experience
- Experience with design verification, electromigration analysis, power integrity or AI/ML engineering
- Knowledge of analog and RF domains, including IC, package and PCB design
- Experience with power-integrity evaluation, current-density analysis or current-distribution analysis using commercial tools
- Knowledge of the Cadence Virtuoso OA design environment
- Familiarity with analog and RF IC, package, PCB or antenna design processes
- Programming knowledge in Skill, Python or Perl
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- The ability to work effectively in a technical team
- Good written and spoken technical English
- The flexibility to thrive in a dynamic high-tech environment
Do you not meet every point listed above? Please contact us anyway. We will be happy to explore the possibilities together.
Our client is a leading high-tech organization in the semiconductor industry. You will work in an environment where analog, RF and power-related design challenges come together, and where design teams rely on advanced simulation flows, methodologies and technical expertise to develop robust new products.
You will contribute to design enablement for analog and RF circuits, with a strong focus on power integrity, electromigration, current-density analysis and reliability verification. The assignment has a minimum duration of one year and is based in Eindhoven.
