What will be your job like as Research Engineer Vehicle Control?
As a Research Engineer Vehicle Control, you will be part of a multidisciplinary R&D team working on technologies that enable vehicles to understand their environment and make safe and reliable decisions.

Your work focuses on AI-based environmental perception and world modelling for vehicle and surrounding environment states, including both estimation and prediction. You will develop new concepts that bridge the gap between scientific innovation and practical automotive applications.

You will design, implement and evaluate advanced algorithms for applications such as multi-sensor fusion, localization, road modelling, drivable space detection, feature map matching and scan registration. You will take these solutions from proof-of-concept towards robust and efficient real-time prototypes.

Testing and validation are an important part of your role. You will plan, execute and analyze experiments using simulation environments as well as real vehicles. This includes vehicle instrumentation, data collection, processing and on-vehicle validation.

In addition, you will contribute to defining functional requirements and safe-by-design frameworks for important automated driving functions, such as localization, road and environment modelling, object detection and tracking.

You will work with technologies and tools such as Python, MATLAB, ROS and C++ and collaborate closely with researchers, engineers and external partners.

Your research outcomes will be shared through technical reports, presentations, workshops and potentially conference or journal publications. At the same time, you will work closely with colleagues to translate your research into practical solutions for customer projects.
