“There are several things that make me feel this was truly meant to be.”

Sometimes the pieces of the puzzle fall perfectly into place. That was certainly the case for Aline Heres when she decided to take her career in a new direction. She recently joined our team at ENTER as a Talent Sourcer and for both her and us, it feels like the perfect match.

Not your standard route
After many years of experience as a Project Engineer, Aline made a conscious switch to a role centered around people and personal connection. “I was getting less and less satisfaction from the technical side of the work,” Aline explains. “What I really missed was working with people. For someone who loves engineering, my previous role would be ideal but I realized my interests are broader. I’m more of a generalist.”

Her technical background now proves to be a real asset in her new role. “I understand the challenges candidates face, I speak their language, and I can really relate to their situation. That makes it easier to connect with them.”

When Aline told her business manager David that she was ready for something new, she didn’t initially expect to end up in a Talent Sourcer role. “I had seen the Talent Sourcer job opening a few times and realized it probably wasn’t written with someone like me in mind but in reality, it turned out to be a perfect fit. I wanted to work part-time and move away from hands-on technical work. Luckily, David and Esther were immediately enthusiastic, and I was able to get started quickly.”

Switching roles took some adjustment. “This job requires a very different skill set from what I was used to. Reaching out to people, making connections that was definitely outside of my comfort zone at first. But you get used to it quickly, and now I really enjoy it and find it incredibly rewarding.”

Finding balance
With two young children at home, the desire for better work-life balance played a big role in her decision to change course. “I was already spending an hour commuting by public transport before even starting my workday. When you also have a young family, that just doesn’t work anymore. My role at ENTER fits perfectly with my home situation, and that means a lot to me. The kids go to daycare two days a week, and the rest of the time, my husband and I share the responsibilities.”

For now, Aline is right where she wants to be but she’s also looking ahead.
“There are plenty of growth opportunities within ENTER that might be interesting to me in the future. For now, it feels like a real luxury to have been able to make this move. The challenge is just right, the work is engaging, and I’m surrounded by great colleagues. There are several things that make me feel this was truly meant to be.”
