He has been working at ENTER for eight of the past nine years: Koen Schilders. In those nine years he has been away for a year, but in that very year he discovered how much he loves working at ENTER. Koen currently works as Business Development Manager for Embedded, the Business Unit within ENTER where software and technology are central.
Koen: "I find the domain in which we work challenging and interesting. What's more, the size of ENTER is just right: big enough to talk to all size customers, but small enough to work flexibly and personally, with a lot of freedom and autonomy. And that really makes a difference to me. On top of that, the level of our people is very high."
And what kind of people are that? "Preferably people with a background in R&D, who really see software development as a profession and have a passion for it," Koen says. "We usually put our people in an R&D department at hightech companies. Big names, but also smaller organizations. That also makes it interesting for our employees; they can choose from a variety of assignments"."It's about people who are genuinely curious and want to know how things can be done better"

Interaction
Koen continues: "We have a large network and we understand what our customers and also our employees are looking for. In addition, we coach our people very personally in their careers. That also gives me energy. Because it's also about interaction.” And it is precisely this interaction and contact that is very important to Koen. "My official title here is 'Business Development Manager', but we work with 360 degree roles and that means my own work is very broad. I'm the contact for both our clients and the people in the team, but I also get the opportunity to develop new business".
Koen is currently trying to expand his team. "We have a number of vacancies, many of them for mediors and seniors. Ideally, candidates should have a Master's degree in Computer Science/Informatics or possibly in Computer Engineering/Embedded Systems. But we also like to speak to people with a background in Bio Informatics or Biomedical Technology, if they have experience in the software domain. Their underlying knowledge can be of great added value".

Curiosity
However, the most important thing remains, as Koen indicates, that people have a passion for technology and making software. "People with an interest in the profession and who want to know how things work and how they can be better. People with a genuine curiosity."Do you fit this description and are you curious about ENTER and Koen? Then contact him.
