What will be your job like as Research Engineer?
As a Research Engineer Plasma, you are responsible for the day-to-day operation of advanced plasma systems. You ensure that the installations operate safely, reliably, and consistently throughout extended and repeated experimental campaigns. This includes independently preparing, executing, and supporting experiments, monitoring system performance, and proactively identifying and resolving technical issues that could impact process stability, yield, or data quality.
Working closely with scientists and project leaders, you translate research objectives into practical experimental plans and provide technical input to the design and execution of test campaigns. You contribute to process optimization, system tuning, and the continuous improvement of plasma technologies while supporting upgrades and modifications as the plasma systems evolve from laboratory-scale research towards pilot-scale applications.
In addition, you create, maintain, and improve process documentation, work instructions, and best practices. You document operational insights and experimental results in a structured manner, ensuring knowledge is captured and shared effectively. You will work in a dynamic R&D environment in collaboration with engineers, scientists, and external partners, where advanced instrumentation, diagnostics, and the operation of high-power plasma systems are central to delivering innovative and scalable plasma solutions.
What you bring?
You have a critical, quality-driven mindset and enjoy working in a structured and hands-on R&D environment. You are comfortable operating complex experimental equipment and take ownership of ensuring safe, reliable, and high-quality results. You work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with scientists, engineers, and external partners while continuously looking for opportunities to improve processes and system performance.
To be successful in this role, you bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Applied Physics, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience with experimental systems, preferably involving plasma technology, high-voltage equipment, or chemical processes.
- Experience operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting complex laboratory or pilot-scale installations during extended experimental campaigns.
- Practical knowledge of instrumentation, process diagnostics, sensors, and control systems, with an affinity for process optimization and system tuning.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience collecting, interpreting, and documenting experimental data in a structured and accurate manner.
- A strong commitment to safety, excellent organizational skills, and effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
