Want to make your mark on our time? Dreaming of working in a deep-tech start-up environment? Do you enjoy translating innovative concepts into robust and scalable production processes? As a Senior Process Engineer Electronics, you will help turn breakthrough research in ultra-thin, flexible electronics into real-world manufacturing, at the interface of materials science, process technology and microelectronics.

What will you do?
You will be responsible for developing, optimizing and integrating production processes for next-generation printed and hybrid electronic devices. You work in a multidisciplinary team and play a leading role in collaborative projects with international industrial partners. Your work contributes to turning advanced research into practical upscaling, manufacturing techniques and processes.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing and optimizing printing, interconnecting and assembly processes, next to Quality Control procedures, for advanced printed electronics devices.
  • Enabling hybrid integration of printed functionality with conventional components such as chips, piezo material and LEDs, while maintaining device thinness and flexibility.
  • Applying your expertise in materials, processes and device design to solve complex upscaling and manufacturing challenges, including manufacturing infrastructure and/or equipment and tooling design.
  • Taking technical manufacturing process responsibility in collaboration with international industrial and research partners.
  • Interacting closely with customers and partners, aligning technical and operational progress with developing project and business objectives.
  • Analyzing experimental and manufacturing data, drawing conclusions and clearly communicating results to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifying potential bottlenecks and obstacles, and proposing and implementing solutions to meet growing manufacturing volume targets.
  • Contributing to knowledge building, best practices and technology roadmaps within the printed electronics domain.
  • Acting as a senior technical and operational reference and sparring partner within the team.

What do we expect from you?
You are an experienced process engineer with a strong manufacturing or operational background in microelectronics, and you have a passion for translating innovative ideas into scale-up, operational and manufacturing processes and procedures. You combine a very hands-on approach with analytical and proactive thinking, and you enjoy working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

In addition, you have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in microelectronics manufacturing, operational or related process engineering environments.
  • Experience with printed electronics, which is a strong plus.
  • A hands-on mentality, with the ability to organize and execute practical work in an efficient and cooperative manner.
  • Strong skills in data processing, analysis and interpretation, and the ability to clearly communicate results.
  • Experience working in collaborative projects with industrial partners or customers.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • A proactive, structured and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to take ownership and lead technical challenges.

Working as a Senior Process Engineer through ENTER
Through ENTER, you will work for a leading research and innovation organization in Eindhoven. Together with industrial partners, our client develops breakthrough technologies that improve people’s lives and help address global societal challenges.

Within our client’s organization, printed electronics plays a key role in enabling ultra-thin, flexible, stretchable and low-cost electronic devices. These technologies are applied in domains such as medical and wearable devices (e.g. ultrasound patches and biosensors), photonics (optical wireless communication) and advanced chip packaging. Many of these applications are hybrid by nature, combining printed functionality with conventional components such as chips and LEDs.

One of those examples is a flexible ultrasound transducer technology that has been under development for the last few years. This technology will be the basis of a spin-off company that is expected to launch within the next 12 months. In this role, you will be closely involved in this development and you will work with industry, medical and defense clients to translate innovative concepts into robust and scalable production solutions. There is also room to grow into an operational management role, possibly including people management responsibilities, as the spin-off takes shape.

As an ENTER colleague you can of course expect a lot from us as well

  • A driven team and an inspiring working environment where our motto #techwithaheartbeat is at the heart of our company!
  • Driven and enthusiastic colleagues;
  • Lots of room for growth and development;
  • Cutting edge hightech projects;
  • A gross monthly salary between €4900,- and €6200,- based on your background and experience;
  • Recurring socials such as the annual BBQ, Christmas dinner, a pub quiz and our fully catered family day in the Efteling;
    And much more!
